| Newsletter Release Number I Wednesday – July 9, 2008 The Information Profile of America’s Newest Association on the Truths of the Germanic Races In disseminating information on the truths regarding the Germanic Races, especially the Germans in particular, we ask only that those reading our newsletters and/or our website information, take our information with an open mind, and understanding, that the information is based on fact, not on half-truths and false news media releases. We are a supporting membership organization that wishes to convey to the general public and the Germans particularly, that the news and public education books, pamphlets, and teachings of anything German has been removed from the text books, and teachers have been prompted to teach their students inflammatory references to anything German. Our information asks why have the names of Baron von Steuben, John Peter Zenger, and others who have contributed so much to make America the great super-nation that it is today, been removed from our history books. We are not going to elaborate on the “ifs”, the “whys”; the Germans are being demeaned more than sixty years after World War II. Our Quest is also Education, to reverse the trend of anti-German sentiment that continues here, in Europe and world-wide. We are not going to name-drop to establish more hate, but to give to you, our readers, an educational response based on truth and fact. Our motto “When the Truth is Distorted by Lies; Let us, who know; Challenge Their Wisdom” will be utilized by our educational processes to bring to you stories, based on fact; historical research; commentaries by Tacitus, Julius Caesar and others; and eye-witness reports; of the Germanic races, from their first entrance into the mainstream of civilization before the advent of Christianity to the modern era. The German-American World Historical Society, Inc. is a non-political organization, who is not influenced by any political system, religious or ethnic entity, and is created to promote love in this modern world. We do not discriminate against anyone regardless of their gender, age, political or religious affiliation, ethnic and race, and medical infirmities. We look forward to your input and to your understanding. Johannes Rammund De Balliel-Lawrora Executive Director BallinStadt News Make History out of Your History Friends of Hamburg and the BallinStadt: In the future, we would like to present here some supporters and helpers who have rendered a service to the subject of “heritage”, or who are personally associated with the topic. Today, we would like to feature the historian Dr. Joachim “Yogi” Reppmann. As a “Wanderer Between Two Worlds,” Reppmann and his wife Gitta spend half of every year in Flensburg, Germany, and the other half in Minnesota where he carries out research in North German emigration to America. Reppmann is intensively involved with the subject of heritage. In spring 2009, Reppmann’s book about Henry C. Finnern (1877-1971) will be published. Finnern, who had his roots in Schleswig-Holstein, was active as journalist, politician and community leader in Denison, Iowa, and enjoyed a 52-year career making newspapers. In his honor, in late summer 2009 a conference will be held on such topics as German-American Emigration Re-search, US- Platt and family research. As former president of the American/Schleswig-Holstein Heritage Society (ASHHS), Yogi Reppmann actively furthers transatlantic relations and is instrumental in expanding the BallinStadt network in the USA. Our Friends, Dr. Joachim Reppmann, Peter Soppa, that he had made: “How can a worker get ahead in Germany, it’s impossible for a family father to save any money,” he complained. But “whoever is willing to work in America can earn a fortune in just a short time.” And there’s as much meat to eat here every day as there only is at a child’s christening back home. However, he also described the difficult Atlantic crossing, and explained in detail how wooden crates containing all the passenger’s belongings should be constructed (“with good locks and iron strips underneath“). The goal of the BallinStadt exhibition planners is not only to make the stories and keepsakes open to the public. Above all, contacts should be established to other immigrants and their descendents from all over Germany and the USA. “We would like to preserve the so-calle ‘Oral Histories’, the narrated recollections of immigrants, which die out with every passing generation”, Birkner commented. A special feature: the exhibition was conceived as a “Work in Progress”, and will be continually expanded through the contributed stories of visitors. Whoever is sold on the idea and rummages through nearly- forgotten boxes, crates and drawers looking for emigration memorabilia, will have found a friend in Jorge Birkner. After all, every fifth American has German roots – so the probability that visitors to the exhibition have ancestors who emigrated to America isn’t all that remote. Become a part of this growing exhibition! The BallinStadt is happy about every new item or every new “life story” which documents the emigration from Hamburg to America. A special telephone extension has been set up at the BallinStadt under (+49- 40) 319 79 16 11 or send an e-mail to info@ballinstadt.de. The exhibition will most likely be open until August 15th 2008.
